Imorgon får ni följa med ut i öknen!
We start here, with skyhigh buildings, beach and good food. We really liked what we ate – lots of grilled meat and rich flavours.
And so Dubai, who has the world’s biggest… list of biggest things? Building (Burj Khalifa, last picture), shopping center, indoor ski slope… Yep, it’s one crazy city. Plus all of their subway stations (third picture) look exactly the same. My first spontaneous thought (Bob has been here a few times before) was that everything is so widely spread out, and it’s far from a stroll-around-city, the distances from a to b are both far and complicated. We went by subway most of the time, but they are closed on Fridays and Saturdays (since that’s their weekend) so we travelled by taxi the last day. And sure, taxi is extremely cheap, but since we thought Dubai felt like one big environmental scandal (but what do we know?) we preferred going by public transport as much as possible. And the train? Apparently they’re driving around without any driver. Let’s summarize this experience as modern.
Tomorrow I’ll take you to the desert!
